Horace Mann’s Flexible Benefits Services, administered by PayFlex Systems USA, Inc., allow your employees to pay for unreimbursed medical expenses and dependent care expenses with pre-tax dollars.  Employee contributions are taken directly from their paycheck before taxes.  Plus, you’ll realize greater savings as more of your employees participate in the plan. 

Our Program Provides administration for Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs), including:

  • Healthcare Spending Accounts
  • Dependent Day Care Accounts

We also provide consumer-directed solutions, including:

  • Health Reimbursement Accounts (HRAs)
  • Health Savings Accounts (HSAs)

We Fully Support Employers

When you choose Horace Mann and PayFlex for your flexible benefits solutions, we make the transition process easy:

  • You provide a commitment form and then execute a new agreement with Horace Mann. 
  • We then provide plan and participant information to PayFlex to begin the implementation checklist. 
  • PayFlex will review your documents and provide recommendations for plan restatements or amendments to align with PayFlex as the flexible spending administrator.  Once the implementation checklist and plan document are complete, we set an enrollment date.

Horace Mann also helps you keep your plan up to date and compliant by providing Plan Documents, Summary Plan Descriptions, and draft amendments and notices at no charge.  Schools/school districts should consult with tax and legal advisors regarding plan documents.

Once an agreement is established, your local Horace Mann representative will assist with:

  • Group meetings to educate employees
  • Enrollment assistance
  • Individual flexible benefit reviews and enrollment
  • New employee orientations
  • Periodic visits to address questions

The Horace Mann PayFlex Team will guide you through their standard process for transferring contributions from the employer to fund participant reimbursements. Their designated call center team boasts industry-leading claim turnaround time (hours vs. days) and industry-best auto-adjudication rates and high claims payment accuracy.  Plus, you’ll have access to PayFlex’s best-in-class online account management through its HealthHub™ school district Web portal.   

Our Service Solutions Empower Employees

Employees who participate in your flexible benefits programs will also receive best-in-class service from Horace Mann PayFlex Team’s dedicated customer service managers, supplemented by your local Horace Mann representative. 

Participants can also manage their accounts through PayFlex’s state-of-the-art online services at horacemann.healthhub.com, including:

  • Access to alerts, account balance, claim history and transactions – all in real time 
  • Flexible claims submission – online, mobile, fax and mail
  • Option to pay the provider directly or receive reimbursement directly via check or direct deposit
  • Planning tools, forms and educational materials

Our HealthHub™ Mobile application for the iPhone®, Blackberry® and Android™ allows participants to access their accounts, transfer funds, submit claims and interact with the same integrated wellness tools – anytime, anywhere.  Smartphone users can also receive instant messaging notifications related to their account status and submit text requests to obtain on-demand account information, such as balances, last claim or next claim paid.

The HealthHub™ debit card is also available to participants for immediate payment of eligible expenses.
